Community Interest Organisation one step nearerer

Good News ! Several wonderful Trustees are now coming forwards  to help set up a Community Interest Organisation (CIO )  or Comunity Interest company (CIC )  to support  the publishing of the book about John Oliver’s extraordinary life.

Their valuable support will give a sound financial governance,   and  the project  will benefit from a range of expertise  in the trustees.

If you would like to become a Trustee please phone to discuss with Frances on 07903 559 888. Meetings will be held  mainly in Faversham , but possibly also via Email, SKYPE or Hangouts.

Following a course I attended recently in Eastbourne by A-N Magazine, I am planning a travelling Art Exhibition and talks  which will  link the Medway , Swale, Sheppey , Essex  and Thamside communities  where John worked and  lived.

If there are any surplus funds once the book is published  the CIO will work with the Faversham Creek Trust  which  will  be offering apprenticeships in  traditional boat building.   Grants could be made to Apprentices with disabilities where they have finanicial hardship or additional needs.  Alternatively, surplus funds could help disabled people to learn to sail.
